Tonga, a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean, had issued about 500 stamps between1886 and 1982. About 130 of them were regular stamps, rectangular with perforation while others are the most inventive ones.

Silver foil stamps rank first among the unusual stamps of Tonga. A set of 6 round stamps were emitted in1963. This set was to commemorate the first gold coinage of Polynesia. Among them, bigger shaped set was emitted for Air Mail, which has the highest denomination of 21 Tongan pa?anga.

A single stamp with the denomination of 15 Seniti was issued to Honour the Coronation of the king of Tonga. Tonga Post also issued a heart shaped silver foil stamp. This stamp with the value of 2 Semiti was released in the memory of Queen Salote of Tonga.
